There is a frightening and disturbing frequency in the shootings and mass killings of innocent civilians in the US,
and the safety of ordinary citizens are at an extremely vulnerable state. What can be done?
It is really saddening and disturbing that unwary citizens are shot to death by several mentally unstable individuals who had accessed to guns. This is a frightening situation because one cannot be sure of safety and security in daily
goings on in life, and that can cause a lot apprehension.
Mental illness aggravates in times of stressful environment such as job loss, foreclosures, illness, financial hardships, and crisis, right now it is global.
Families should be observant and aware of their relations that manifest signs of instability like depression, paranoia, extreme mood swings, lack of communication, isolation, and irrational communication. Access to weapons or cutting instruments that may cause harm must be cautiously observed and monitored, and at best - professional help must be sought or authorities duly informed. Prevention is everyone's responsibility.
