Most of the people I know personally do not understand why I write poetry. "You can't make a living as a poet." they say. I used to explain that money had nothing to do with it. It is the thread that keeps me alive. It is a driving force that pushes me along the path of life. And it is my salvation from bordom, loneliness and feelings of failure.
In my poetry, I can express those thoughts that make me unique and human at the same time. I can through my poetry glimpse heaven, hell and the feelings I can not define in prose or by voice.
The feedback I get here at AD makes me feel alive, and valued for my mind and my talent. It is immediate and gratifying. To my mind the greatest thing one human being can do is to reach out and connect to another. I can do that through my poetry. I can make others see and understand who I am and how I feel about life in all its aspects.
So I will continue to put my pen to paper and reach out with my words to connect with others.
