Life goes on even when it is most difficult. Some times change is all that we need to make us want to go on. There have been many changes in my life over the time I was gone. I moved to the east coast of Florida for 18 months. I lived with my BFF and got to spend a lot of time reflecting on my life. I started several writing projects but couldn't seem to carry through on any of them. As a result I have about six half written stories. I have written little poetry during my self-imposed isolation.
I needed the time to gather myself from a life that had become impossible for me to deal with. I knew I needed to change the course of my life when a deep depression descended and I actually overdosed on Christmas Day of 2014. By January 3rd I moved to my BFF's house. It was either that or the looney bin.
My friend welcomed me with open arms. It was a sad day when I arrived. We had to bury one of her dogs. We gave him a christian/Jewish funeral. It was a very sad affair. He was buried on the opposite side of the house from my beloved cat, Itsy-Bitsy.
The only down side of living with my BFF was her ex-brother-in-law, a raging and nasty drunk moved in after a serious illness. I worked very hard to treat him with the forgiving kindness my faith expected of me. I didn't always succeed, but I tried.
Unfortunately, as I got better, by beloved daughter go worse. Chantel had a stroke shortly after I moved. It wasn't life threatening, but it damaged her speech certer. It took her months to regain most of her vocabulary.
I experienced two seizures myself. I don't remember the first one. I started across my room, and somewhere along the way, My Brain Checked out. I came to across the room, on the floor with my BFF calling an ambulance. The second one was much different. I'm not telling you this to gain your pity or sympathy. I want to tell you so you will recognize the symptoms if they ever happen to you. I was sitting on my bed when a black wave of nothingness crossed my brain from left to right. Everything in front of the wave's crest was fine, but everything behind it as black and void. When it finally reached the right side of my brain, I simply fell over on the bed. It took almost an hour for me to wake up, but when I did I was fine, except for being scared.
Things changed again last week when I moved back to the west coast of florida. I live with my daughter, so I can help her. She can't be left alone for any length of time. Her significant other has to work so he can't be with her 24/7.
One more thing changed this week, I posted my first poem in 2 years tonight. It felt really good. Within an hour 15 views were made. I hope everyone likes it.
