All in a Day's Work 5/10/2007 7:01:31 PM
I'm tired. I work all night at the hotel, go home catch about four hours of sleep then get up and work on my jewelery(sp. I usually can get two sets,(necklace, bracelet and earrings) done a day. The goal is to have enough to sell at the arts and craft show at Christmas time. It doesn't always work that way because I wind up selling one out of every three sets I make to someone at work, or to a hotel guest who wants to bring a gift home to the wife.
As you can imagine my current schedule doesn't leave much time for writing. And my muse seems to be on vacation at the moment. I keep telling myself that she has a right to time off, but I resent her leaving me in the lurch like this. I'm not used to having nothing to say.
Right now we're keeping an eye on the weather, praying for some good rain. Florida is a tinder box right now with over 200 wild fires burning in the state. The interstate here was closed due to smoke for almost a full day, Alagator Alley, I75 from Naples to Miami was close because of a 30,000 acre wild fire. We can't water lawn, or wash cars, or use water unneccesarly. We've had no rain for months and the tiniest spark will set the area afire.
One good thing on the horizon is that my youngest son, Michael,(whose drawings are posted on some of my poems) is getting married on the 26th. I really like the girl he's marrying. She's a great match for him, and he's so happy with her. It's going to be an outdoor wedding in a park, so it will be very nice and picturesque.
I guess that's it for now. I haven't forgotten you all, and one of these days I will have time to read your work again and that will give me real pleasure.
