I just know you all have been waiting with baited breath for this blog. (Yeah right!!!!)
Actually, I have been very busy trying to get all my ducks in a row to start school next week. Yes, I am slightly crazy going back to college at the age of 60+. But you know what, I'm really exacited about being in the thick of all those young people with all those wonderful expectations of life. One of the hardest things to keep going as we pass our child rearing years is excitement about life. No more sporting events, competition, or any of the other things we did with our kids. No more jumping up and down, cheering our kids across the finish line, no more nail biting as we waited for results of test or applications to colleges. Let's face it life gets boring after the kids are gone.
If you're married at least you have another person to help you deal with it, but when you single it's all up to you. For me, going back to school is the answer. It will sharpen my writing skills, my memory and hopefully my wit. I'll have a reason to get up and out of the house early in the day. I'll have something to take up my time when I can't sleep. And I'll have something to look forward to. I didn't get to attend my graduation from undergraduate school, so this one will be really special. I plan to invite my three kids to watch mom walk the walk.
In the meantime, I'll work my Ahem off,try to be in the top 10% of my class and enjoy every minute of it. I'll sweat out test scores and gripe about the amount of homework I have to do. and for the next two years, I'll be one of the happiest people you know.
