What a gorgeous day 11/12/2005 12:46:23 PM
For some reason, the rainy season here has been temporarily-delayed. While not necessarily a good thing considering September was the warmest month in...recorded history, er...I am nonetheless thrilled that the sun is shining for day or two. If you have never lived in it, it is very hard to describe how it feels to see clouds and rain for close to 3/4 of the year. It definitely takes a toll on cheerfulness, not to mention creating a whole new attachment to the ubiquitous "duck shoes. "Even so, I love it when a good storm blows through. it leads to weird thoughts like, "I wonder what explorers such as Sir Francis Drake did when it hit the fan out on the Pacific." Yes, I really DO think about history that much. But now, I am going to mow the lawn...all 2.5 acres of it. Hooray.
