Phew, this morning there was no breeze, it was humid and I mistakenly believed we had moved to Florida and I wasn't there for the trip. I love heat, don't get me wrong, but with the humidity, well, New Jersey redux. It screamed, "West Nile come get me." But mercifully there were neither mosquitoes nor turnpikes, only buttes and pine trees some of them a bit singed. I wonder what my friend S.J. Reisner is doing, and Dana Reed. I am hoping they are ok and writing as much as ever. I am working on Reign of the Holly King, a work of historical fiction, and I am transported to the Renaissance. I like that time period minus the cloak of fantasy we give it literature. Full of life in a very raw state, it fascinates me. Life is good. I think I will enjoy a cup of hot joe on this hot day and simply...smile.
