Have You Ever Wondered?

Have you ever lain awake at night and pondered those deep though-provoking questions for which you will probably never find the answer?
For example, when I click on the "Page Stats" for this Web page, it shows me the number of hits by "Live Visitors." Hmm, therefore, I have to wonder, how many hits is my Web page getting from "non-live visitors," meaning those who are dead?

I also wonder about those ads law offices run on television, you know the ones, those where some lawyer dressed in a thousand-dollar suit wants you to contact his law offices if you took a certain drug and experienced various nasty side effects. The list of side effects is quite lengthy and includes such maladies as heart attacks, seizures, abdominal bleeding, loss of vision, loss of extremities, loss of hearing, and--death. Yes, the ads say, "If you or a loved one have taken this drug and experienced one of these side effects or died, contact our law offices today, for you may be entitled to a nice settlement."

"Wait just a doggone minute," I think. "If I'm dead, how on earth am I supposed to contact your offices? Moreover, if I'm dead, just what in the heck am I gonna do with a settlement, nice or otherwise?"

And on that note, I'm going to bed. More on this topic at a later date since it's now 2:00 in the morning here in the murky, flat, alligator-infested swamps of South Louisiana. Besides, I need to go check the page stats again and see how many "Live Visitors" have visited this Web page since I started this blog entry.
