Today I finally had time to write. I hadn't written even a single word since Wednesday, and as I came back to my third novel I wondered if I've acted correctly, writing the first sixty pages as I have. I might have this whole thing wrong. I thought this story was about the raven-faced girl. Now I'm not so sure.
And it's only going to get harder to figure it out, what with being scheduled 60 hours next week. I guess it's not so bad though. One co-worker of mine has 72, and she is happy, saying that we should all be happy for the opportunity for so much money, and that we should take advantage of it. Everyone else I've talked to has at least 55 hours, and we all agree that when faced with dilemas like this, it is the job that is taking advantage of us, not the other way around.
Then again, I will be making a substantial amount of dough, even after taxes, what with twenty hours of overtime, and there should be plenty to put towards savings. Then there's also the savings for the publishing of Madeline City. And the savings for the marketing of Branchwater. And the cell phone bill. And the food bill. Oh yes, let's not forget rent. And do I want to have clean clothes next week? Maybe, but what is more important? Clothes or toliet paper? Ah, life.
