This Blog Contains Complaining: Be Ye Warned 9/15/2008 6:01:41 PM
Last night I set a record, but it wasn't a good record. It wasn't one of those "I've just eaten more tofu than ever before," or "I've just played Halo for thirty-seven hours straight" kind of records. No, last night I came down with a sinus infection, and this counts as the fourth time that I've gotten sick this year. Some might say that a sinus infection isn't really a sickness. Well, I haven't even mentioned the common colds yet; that should show how rarely I used to get sick. This year IT happened twice in the spring while in Florida (both colds), once just last month (my hellish fever which my friends heard of in detail), and now with this nasal-barricade of green snot that insists forcing me to breathe with my mouth open.
On top of that modest pile (though it seems like Mount Everest compared to my typical track record of one common cold per winter) sits the fact that never in my life have I had "allergies" until last year. I had never randomly woken up on a warm, sunny morning to find my nose running like a faucet. Until just recently, I had no idea what those people with "allergies" were complaining about. Now I know, and I am horrified.
But, time marches on. Work and school don't slow down for you if you're wiping your nose, and so it's onward and upward, off to my second class for the day.
I do believe that tomorrow I'll sit down and figure out how to further simplify my life. I am a creature of habit, as well as one of simplicity. Put too much on my plate, and watch me turn around and dash off screaming into the night, praying for mercy... and an end to such dramatic complaining.
