Once upon a time, life was easy.
Wait... it was?
Well, it doesn't really matter because now that I think about it, life isn't so bad after all. School goes forward as easily as ever, computers continue to baffle and enrage me, my wallet remains empty, and my writing marches on, largely unaware of the existence of Hobbits, for which I'm very thankful. Regular submissions to journals let me plow forward in my publishing efforts without spending too much dough, and plans, schedules, and outlines have begun to form in my mind, releasing the writing-expectant equivalent of endorphins. If that makes any sense...
After I finish getting Madeline City/Mantra Manor/Children of Cramburg ready for publication (editing, formatting, etc.) then I'm considering taking a short break from novel writing to work on a short story or two. With Cramburg throwing me for a slight loop (in terms of expecting what it would be like to write), and with the combination of these few stories into one, big, almost-series volume, I'm more than ready to tackle a few smaller projects while I let the future of Branchwater brew, bubble, and stew for a while longer.
