Yesterday I got up at 6am, and it's the earlist that I'll be getting up for the next two weeks. Second to that will be 8am. And I know that I told many people in AZ that it would be warmer here, but that was a complete mistake to think so. It is passable here during the days, and it is freezing at night.
Yesterday I finished my training and got to rip the 'Earning My Ears' ribbon off of my nametag. Now when I go to clock in the computer will tell me where I'll be working that day. Perhaps I'll be working at the Village Fry Shoppe, or Mrs. Potts Ice Cream Shop, or Scuttles, where we serve frozen carbonated beverages (coke slushies), Enchanted Grove (a beverage stand), or the all important, highly favored, of-simpson-fame, Pretzel Wagon.
Today I'm blogging, and then working on Madeline City, then sending out a few stories to journals, then reading, then perhaps shopping.
Tomorrow I start a string of five days working before getting Monday and Tuesday off, at which point I'll be really glad.
And just so everybody knows, Cryptonomicon is a highly technical, very un-Stephen-King-like (that being the most important factor) volume of seriously cryptologically heavy material. It doesn't suit me as well as I thought it would (when I heard it was about WWII I was thinking Nazis, not boring Japs). But I'm trying.
