Writers conferences - Whether they're Big or Small, can touch your life and can change your life. I recently attended Write on The River's annual writers conference in Wenatchee, WA. It was smaller, more intimate than most conferences, but just as enriching, just as valuable to a writer.
I took several classes from renowned international author, C.C. Humphreys, whom I met in 2010 in Seattle when I was a Memoir finalist. The great thing about a smaller conference is that it's easier to strike up conversations with other writers and presenters as well. My husband chatted with Chris Humphreys initially and said we'd been to several of his workshops. Surprisingly, Chris remembered us and I was able to talk with him a couple of times over the 2 1/2 day conference.
Mr. Humphreys is famous, but down to earth, gracious, and supportive of all writers. I came away energized and ready to tackle my next project. I just wanted to thank Chris and wish him well on his future novels. Check C.C. Humphreys out and read some of his historical fiction- you won't be sorry.
