Technology Brings Peace of Mind 9/3/2012 6:05:10 AM
My new computer has me back in the saddle again . . . I believe that how well equipment works, anything from a washing machine or car, to a computer, affects how effeciently one operates in life. Coincidently, both my washer and computer failed in the same month; well my computer didn't exacty crash, but it was sputtering along, giving out alarming messages every few hours. But as much as I use my computer, I think the breakdown of the washer upset me more.
Researching and purchasing washers and dryers isn't the same game it was twenty years ago. Everything is digitized and computerized, with control panels that can intimidate the novice. Luckily I had two people point me in the right direction and within a week I had pair of gleaming white appliances in my laundry room. I LOVE them.
On to the computer. I have a Dell, and have had one for several years, so it was easy to call them up and order just what I needed. I called on a Monday morning and my Dell arrived on my doorstep by Wednesday, noon. Now I'm ready to get back to writing, with clean clothes, sheets and towels. I truly have a fresh start every morning.
Oh, I might mention that my washer and dryer are so quiet when they operate that I found myself opening the door and check on them - like I did with my children when I thought they had stopped breathing in the middle of their naps.
My Dell is a dream too and has allowed me to return to writing my novel and updating my blogs. Hooray for technology!
