Throw Your Heart At The Sky 7/24/2011 7:51:18 PM
Take a chance and find Joy in the process . . . One thing that never fails to lift my spirits is a beautiful song that is sung from the heart. As young as five, when I'd play my album from South Pacific, I couldn't help but twirl around and sing along with the catchy tunes. I particularly liked the song, Happy Talk.
I could use some happy talk right about now. It's been a tough couple of months, for several reasons, and most days it's difficult to smile and feel happy about anything.
But today I feel like throwing my heart at the sky and taking a chance at getting it hurt in the process. Sure, my heart may get bumped and bruised, but what’s the good in being alive, being loved, belonging and not believing that the tough times will pass? They've come and gone before, maybe not quickly, but they've always passed.
Today I'll throw my heart at the sky, watch it take flight, catch it when it comes down, and embrace life as it's meant to be. I'll hold on tightly, without fear and with the joy I felt when I was five years old.
