Scientist's findings prove life must come from life. In a scientific experiment in 1864 Louis Pasteur proved that life must come from life.
A popular belief in Louis Pasteur's day was Spontaneous Generation. This belief was based on the assumption that decaying matter could spawn living matter.
In four simple experiments he proved that life must spring from life. All experiments were conducted by beginning with a sterile broth. (All living matter in the broth was destroyed by heat.)
In the first experiment the sterile broth was placed in a flask and left open to the air. As time passed organisms formed in the flask.
The second experiment placed the sterile broth in a sealed flask. As time passed no organisms appeared. Later the neck of the sealed flask was broken and air was allowed in the flask. Organisms then appeared. This revealed that organisms must be carried in the air.
The third experiment placed the sterile broth in an open flask, but the air was sterilized as it passed into the flask. As time passed no organisms appeared.
With the fourth experiment he placed the sterile broth in an open flask with a swan neck tube, (similar to the goose-neck on a sink). Air was allowed in the flask, but the organisms were trapped in the goose-neck. As time passed no organisms appeared.
The experiments were simple but profound. Only when the broth came in contact with outside organisms could organisms grow inside the flasks.
The results scientifically prove that life must come from life. The results have not been refuted to this day.
One biology text book that espouses evolution states his research this way:
"To maintain it, life must always come from life, flowing from generation to generation in an unbroken chain (except at its beginning on Earth four billion years ago.)" Exploring the Way Life Works The Science of Biology, Mahlon Hoagland, Bert Dodson, Judy Hauck, Jones and Bartlett Publishers. p. 140.
It is amazing that those who preach evolution could disregard scientific proof to espouse their own opinions. With one little "except" they ignore true scientific observation.
