Amazing Creation by J-me (Part 8)

Genesis 1:14-19

• Genesis 1:14-19, "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day."

It is the fourth day of creation that God created man's time. (Remember that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, II Peter 3:8.)

Not only does God through Jesus Christ create the physical universe, he also, in his great wisdom, uses his creation to reveal himself. God uses the sun and the moon as an allegory of Christ and his followers.

Just as Christ's love (the Light in Genesis 1:3) shines upon the earth, so the sun shines directly on the earth.

Just as the moon reflects the sun's brilliance onto the earth, so also Christians reflect Christ's love onto the earth. (John 15:5, "...for without me ye can do nothing."

Praise God who uses his creation to help reveal himself to us.
