Genesis 1:20-23 • Genesis 1:20-23, "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day."
God reserved the fifth day for creating fish and fowl. Again we see that God commanded that everything produce after its own kind.
As I was writing this I thought about the old jokes we used to tell when I was a kid.
Q: What do you get when you cross an elephant with a leech?
A: A Big Sucker!
Some of the jokes were funny - some were not, but in actuality, if animals could cross species lines the confusion would be massive.
God, who is a God of order, has created all things to be orderly. He is not the author of confusion. The smallest details were "tended to" by our awesome God.
Another thing that is worth noting is that God made a distinction between the great firmament called Heaven on the second day and the open firmament of heaven where the birds could fly on the fifth day.
Remember that the Bible was written thousands of years before man's ability to make a distinction between earth's atmosphere and outer space.
These simple verses show an incredible intellect and plan long before man's scientific ability to discover these distinctions.
I am continually amazed at man's rejection of so many obvious proofs of God's existence and provision.
