Genesis 1:1 When discussing the Creation two questions seem to surface. Is the Bible literal? OR Is the Bible an allegory? The answer is yes. Although the Bible is literal in its account, God has also used the creation account to reveal himself to his creation. It is amazing that in both cases the creation account is in perfect harmony.
• Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
In this simple statement God declares he is the creator of everything. Nothing can be added to or taken away from God's creation.
• Ecclesiastes 3:14, "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him."
It is interesting to note that science agrees with creation. Don't fall over yet. It's true.
The First Law of Thermodynamics supports the fact that nothing can be added to or taken from creation. It states, "that energy can be gained or lost in chemical processes -- shifted from one to another -- but it can't be created or destroyed." • Hebrews 1:10-12, "And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning has laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands; They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail."
The Second Law of Thermodynamics supports the fact that heaven and earth shall wear out. It states, "energy inevitably disburses, dissipates, scatters -- that is, it is transformed from more usable forms such as photons and bonds to a less usable form, namely heat. The tendency of energy to disperse, and of ordered structures to become disordered, is called entropy, and physicists say that the entropy of the universe is increasing." In 1864 Louis Pasteur proved that life must come from life, flowing from generation to generation in an unbroken chain. Exploring the Way Life Works, Hoagland, Dodson, Hauck, p140, 2001
Pasteur's findings have never been refuted to this day.
It is amazing that facts pronounced thousands of years ago by God in his Holy Word are provable today. Although God doesn't need man's science to prove his creation, I find it interesting.
