That's What I Think 3/12/2012 10:36:32 AM
Hey there!
Monday now. Raining, blowing, and the tree limbs are falling.
Anyone out there afraid of storms? What do you do when one hits? Are you prepared?
I don't think any of us in the Pacific NW are that prepared. We don't normally have tornados, or hurricanes. Earthquakes don't come often. We have flooding but not to the point of needing structures to keep the water out. We can become complacent in our temperate weather.
What about storms within the mind? What do you do when one hits? Are you prepared?
Those who don't know about this kind of calamity would even wonder why ask the question. But if you're like me...you must be prepared. Your mind must be strong and hopefully you are using techniques about soothing the anxious mind, hopefully you are using self soothing talk, hopefully you set yourself up for success in daily endeavors.
In extreme cases like a death in the family, you must remember to lean on those that can calm you properly given your anxious condition. Do not try to do things that would not support your disease. We tend to take on too much and find ourselves having panic attacks, unable to drive, letting down our own systems of survival.
When you live with an anxious mind...you must always be on point in regards to yourself. Remember to breathe deeply and exhale slowly...and live for today!
