genetic link to the past that tie past lives together Far Memory is the sub plot of my newest book in the Magdalene Chronicles Series. This is the theory that we come from a central memory bank. Perhaps through many lives over the centuries there has lingered genetic memories that allow us glimpses into the past. We may have been male or female; it does not matter. What matters is that we capture the glimps into a past life and place it into THIS memory bank in THIS life and utilize it to make THIS life a better one.
Far memory or Genetic Memory may account for Tiger Woods playing golf so well at age three or a child prodigy of the past who inherently "knows" how to play the piano or harp or even just picks up something easily. Some people are good at languages and just seem to be able to immerse themselves in a culture in their head and speak like a native. There are many examples in people's lives of Far Memory. Deja Vu is the French expression that means "already seen". We use it to explain the feeling that we have been somewhere or met someone before. Maybe it is simpler than that. Maybe the memory is actually encoded in your DNA; it's genetic.
In the New Age community it is popular to beleve in reincarnation. This theory that one soul leaves a dying body and later returns to earth to inhabit the body of a newborn baby owes some credit to gentic memory. You can use this to explain how a child knows something that he has never before been exposed to.
Scientists are today working on this theory that memory resides in one's DNA. Perhaps your body will retain certain memories of your great grand parents or of ancestors so far back on your family tree that you don't even know you are related to them.
