Our country depends on our love of country and continued fight for our freedom. I walked into the church today and was impressed by the bunting that was hanging from the balcony front row. The red, white and blue always brings a tear to my eye but today it seemed to be saying "stand up and be counted for me." There have been so many political arguements in the last few years that our belief in freedom seems to have gotten lost in the rush. We need to remember the people who went before us and who fought for the freedom that we have today. The problem is that we stand a good chance of losing our freedoms if we are not more vigilant. Our freedoms should not be taken for granted. We cannot let people who do not love our country and do not follow our beliefs destroy the backbone of our nation. It is sad that it seeems to be happening today. I wonder how many people have thought about some of the things that are happening in politics today. We are being invaded from within. Our values are being tested and so are we that believe in them. We cannot let people with a different agenda take our nation apart piece by piece. We need to teach the history of our founding fathers so that every one of the people in our country will know what they had to go through to guarantee us the lives we have now. We have history on our side. Black and white have fought side by side to build this nation that other people escaping other countries would be willing to die to come to. We need to remember what it is about America that makes this the country that people want to live in. We need to remember that this is the country where everyone is equal and has an equal chance to be great. People have risked their lives coming here in boats that barely float because of this life.
