Shouldn't the US take care of itself first?
Not my usual blog but it needs to be said. I am a Christian so I have always subscibed to being our brother's keeper. The problem with that these day seems to be that it is being carried to extremes these days. It is always good to give what you can to good causes that save children in foreign countries or pay for food and schooling for them but what about the thousands and thosands of children in America today who are doing without because of our monetary situation? Instead of sending billions abroad to help the homeless, wouldn't we be better people if we helped the homeless here? Why aren't there any organizations to care for American children who do without? Why don't we have an AMerican SAVE THE CHILDREN?
Not my ususal style is it? I usually blog about writing and books but this has been bothering me. Doesn't anyone else see that this should be a priority for people who have money left to give? In fact, shouldn't the government help Americans by keeping the money here instead of sending it to support people abroad? Am I just delusional?
