Did I write a "true" story without even knowing it? Book two of my series is out and I am enjoying the comments of the readers. More, I am enjoying some strange coincidents that area occuring. I have told you before that my books just sort of "come to me". I don't really have a great deal of power over the story line or the characters. They sort of reside in my head and dictate their story and dialogue. The most interesting thing has happened. I have discovered that there is a DeBrissac family in the part of France that I have been using for a setting. Funnier even still is that they own a working and thriving winery. Yesterday I discovered that there is a dig going on in an area near the Qumran Caves. The archaeologist involved is searching for a lot book written by Jesus. So where have my ideas come from? Book two was about DNA holding the memories of our ancestors. That study is being conducted even as you read this blod. I had never heard of any of this before I started writing this series...well, that's not quite true because I actually wrote the first book of the series in the late 60's. It has changed since then but not dramatically. So are these memories someplace inside my body; my head? Are they just waiting to be called to the fore? I have always had an affinity for this time period in history. It caused me a large amount of trouble in Sunday School because I kept asking questions that no one knew the answer to. When I went off to college I incorporated religions into my curriculum. I couldn't get enough of the Lost and Forbidden Books of the Bible, the Pseudepigriphia, the Apocrapha, the Dead Sea Scrolls. I knew about Kaballa before Madonna became a singing idol and converted to Judaism. Now it appears that many of the things I have always questioned are being questioned by very learned people and that they are doing everything in their power to find the answers we both need. WOW. Isn't this awesome? I sure think so.
