This weekend we celebrate the lives and sacrifices of those who have gone before and given their lives to offer us the freedom to live and worship as we will. It is to these brave soul I dedicate this blog. When my eldest son joined the Navy he was the eighth generation of us to serve in the military. Fortunately, he came home from his war. I am proud of my son, and his fellow warriors, and those who went before them. It has never been pride in the medals they won, or the ranks they achieved, it was and still is about their willingness to put the needs of others before their own, to pay any price to protect those who could not protect themselves. Their courage was not of sign that they had no fear, but rather that they overcame their fears to do what had to be done.
So I urge you all to think as you remember them this weekend that these men and women made the ultimate sacrifice not for any honor we might give them, but to make sure lived in a land that allowed us to gather and honor those who made a difference.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL WHO SERVED AND THOSE WHO WAITED AT HOME FOR THEM TO RETURN.
