Two weeks and counting? 7/11/2004 6:35:15 AM
Has it really been two weeks plus since my last entry? wow.
I am okay. I have settled in for a spell, working on getting my feet back under me. I'm going to stay with my family for a little while, Dad has surgery later this week (not major surgery, but when you're two weeks from you 81st birthday, any surgery is major).
Ann and I correspond on a regular basis, the relationship is weird, but it is there. She seems to be taking all of this a lot harder than I am. Of course, I have more experience at it.
Peri is again being elusive. It's insulting and painful, but what can I do?
The boys are great. I'm looking forward to their birthdays next week.
I'm spending spare time working on my book "War Stories" and helping Ann out by editing her sci-fi lesbian novel "Mather's Milk"...
Did a new headshot for the people at the AEI, posted a cut down version of it her on AD.
Money is still an absurdity.
My Mom, God love her, is still as Republican as ever. About once a day she drops a new word bomb about Kerry, something she's seem on "Fox Not-Quite-News but we're frustrated pseudo journalists who would rather give you our opinion than anything resembling just the facts" or gotten in an email. She has also informed me that she does not want me dating again until the divorce is final...I understand her rationale.
Weird moment of the last week, JoAnn (yes, the JoAnn) IM'd me and mentioned she had seen me at the fireworks last week. I haven't seen her in decades, and it was rather surprising she recognized me. I had gone with my youngest brother's ex, their daugyhter and the ex's boyfriend to the Hazel Ruby McQuain pavillion to watch the fireworks and listen to a rather lame steel drum concert.
I might wander down to the Blue Moose tomorrow to check out the open mic. I don't normally do those, but if it is a good crowd and the spirit moves me, we shall see.
