I have lost my mind and can't remember where I put it. Well, I’ve been complaining about how I am getting old and forgetful. For that matter, my wife has brought it up a few times. Today, she admitted she is joining the old age club.
As she was leaving one of her co-workers asked if she were working tonight; she works the night shift as a nurse. She answered,
“No, I’m off for one night. I work tomorrow and Thursday and then we are on vacation.” Her friend asked where we were going and Ann told her. Then her friends said, “Well, I guess I will see you tomorrow night then.” Ann answered,
“Why? Are you off tonight?” Her coworker said,
“No, you are!”
When she told me about the conversation we had a hardy life and sipped a cup of coffee. The forgetful thing is a price you pay for living longer. My wife once made a list of things for me to pick up from the store so I would not forget anything. I got out of the car at the grocery store and left the list lay on the front seat, never giving it a thought. I came out of the store and put the bags of groceries on the seat without even seeing the list laying there on the seat.
This is only one of many and I am sure there will be many more. I tell you, “gettin’ old ain’t for wimps!
