Fond Remembrances (1970-part 2) 9/22/2010 10:45:47 AM
I would like to reflect back on those years I wrote about yesterday. I must say the very happiest times of my life was while at the National Academy of Broadcasting and the years afterward when I worked as a DJ at a radio station in Orange, Virginia and eventually at WARK in Hagerstown. Rock & Roll was groovin' and I loved diggin' songs like "Do you Love Me, Love me Tender and You've lost that lovin' feeling. I was able to make a few dollars extra by doing record hops and remote broadcasts at various commercial outlets. For a while at least I believe Lew Duffey became sort of a household name. What great times they were and things got even better when I met the love of my life. It didn't stop there. Over the next years I became a proud Dad to a boy and two lovely girls.
Ann and I would take them to a swimming hole and the kids would beg dad to pitch them as high as I could to make them do belly whoppers in the lake. Christmas became more priceless than ever as did Easter, Thanksgiving and of course birthdays. Now I look back and think they came by too fast.
There are people who spend their life looking for life to start but I am now sixty-five and believe me my life is a wonderful selection of memories. Oh, there were some bad times but believe me when I tell you they were more than outweaghed by the good. I will add more to these remembrances but for now I believe I will just relax and reflect.
