Too much for the week. 5/1/2010 2:13:51 PM
freelancing etc. Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you what an interesting week this has been. At the first of the week I had a group of people calling at all hours to rent a beach cottage for one of the prime summer weeks. Most have neglected to call again. So, there it is, a house sitting alone on an island off the coast of North Carolina just waiting to be filled up for the summer and here am I, just waiting to make enough money to pay the outrageous taxes on said house because the market is down and I can't sell it. And, that's life. As the week went on, I finally got two renters and then the calls slacked off. Fade to grey.......
Then I made certain I finished all my freelance projects for the week prior to their due date. I almost got carpel tunnel on my left hand from all the typing. LOL...Considering I already have a scar down the middle of my hand and through the wrist from that same surgery almost twenty years ago, having it again would not be good. But that's the way the cookie crumbles (speaking of cookies, I am trying very hard to quit). I keep logging on to the website to see if I snagged a new job or not. Sometimes I think no one appreciates my ability to write things like I would say them if we were having a conversation. I've got all the credentials; I just have to persevere.
Today is Saturday. My neighbors left on an extended vacation to California yesterday and all is quiet in the "hood". I ventured out onto the porch and sat in the swing among my tropical plants and just vegetated. That seems to have recharged my batteries. By Monday I will be able to start all over again.
I never give up; that's a fact. Most of us who are writers can't. If we did, we'd never get published.
