an update of the blog I have been lax about blogging since Christmas. I realize that is not very professional of me but I have been tired. Last year I wrote more than 1500 articles in just a few months. My fingers were sore from pounding the computer keys and my eyes are blurred from staring at the screen. Don't get me wrong, I love being a freelance writer but sometimes my brain needs a break.
My husband says that writing allows me to empty my "hard drive" of all of the useless information that is store up there. I seem to just keep tons of stuff that I have read catalogued in case I need it. I say it keeps my brain young. Who can get Alzheimer's when you use your brain as much as I do?
Lately I have found that some of the jobs that are posted are from people who can't even spell the word "writer". I always get a chuckle out of some of the posts because they want perfect English, excellent grammar, amazing writing skills and yet they can't spell. No wonder they need to hire someone. Here is one of my favorite posts: " I need a writter who is purfect in gramer and speaks good English."
Ok. I think I understand what you want but why didn't you check your spelling before you posted the job?
I am writing a new mystery series in which the heroine is a woman from my hometown who was beloved by everyone in that town. Prior to her death in 2008, she told me she wanted me to make her the next Mrs. Fletcher. I hope to be able to do that with the humor and mystery she deserves. So far I have managed to kill off the mayor of a nearby town during the Fourth of July celebration. Now it is up to her to solve the mystery of how it was done.
My husband has had health issues since Christmas and he has been taking first place in my mind and actions since then. Hopefully, he will be much better when Spring has sprung and he can help our grandson (5 1/2) plant a vegetable garden. Working in the soil often helps a person feel better.
I have been working on articles about 12/22/2012 lately. Too much time is spent worrying about the End of the World since the Mayan calendar ends on that date. I believe that the calendar ends because the Maya forsaw the beginning of a new age. Perhaps we will once again be going into a Golden Age when we will live in symmetry with our world.
Anyway that is all for now. I hope I am caught up on everything.
