No anxiety here 9/19/2007 8:18:59 PM
The Lord recovers what we give to Him. The Lord is showering His blessings upon me. And once again, I fall upon my prayer pad to thank Him for more than I ever asked Him to begin with.
I got a call from my wedding singer tonight. The hoarsenes in her throat told me right away that there was trouble. Allergies and a severe cold were taking her lovely soprano voice away despite the scheduled Saturday wedding that has been on the books for months.
What could I do but stop in my temptation to anxiety and finally give my cares to the Lord. And so, upon that final surrender, I began to reach the people who had run through my mind as my original singer spelled out her sad story to me.
Within an hour, new plans had been formed, praise God, and with a singer I have a long heritage in worship and music. It should be noted that at the onset, I had no idea how to reach this singer despite my familiarity with her. When I did finally reach her, she accepted with grace my situation, and offered to sing the selections planned in advance. In addition, she offered some wonderful selections of her own that are so fitting to the ceremony.
I am so thankful to the Lord for this provision although I am blessed by my original singer's intent of gift to me. The Lord gave me the gift of putting this music together even in the midst of something that could have fallen apart.
I am so thankful, and so I used my prayer pad tonight falling on it in grateful humility for how easily He put all this together. Thank you, Jesus.
