The chapter had an amazing affect... I nearly jumped out of my skin with joy when a long time friend of mine who had read "Love is Stronger", a chapter in IMPRINTS, announced to me (and to a church congregation) the long standing effects it had upon her.
The chapter deals with treating a person having a seizure in public. Having dealt with this for more years than I can count, I actively deliver in the chapter the highest form of treatment others can give to another when going into and having a seizure: loving, hugging, holding, and overall accepting the one affected. Personal panic reactions will not benefit anyone nearby, but will only hinder those in the immediate area including the one seizing.
It seems from my friend's account, that after reading "Love is Stronger" she immediately knew what to do when witnessing another going into a seizure. And even though there were nurses called in, my friend was the only one who was not panicked, and who knew right away what to do. Praise God! I see fruit from my labors.
Keeping quiet, creating a safe environment by removing sharp objects, and possibly cradling the person's head in your lap is the kindest treatment a person witnessing a seizure can give in this situation.
Spread the word! - There's still alot of stigma to overcome, and there are many people affected with epilepsy and seizures. Many don't want to reveal it, but it will show itself in public sooner or later.
