So glad we old folks--not too old, mind you -- could go to the annual Fall Fun Day.   Billy & Theresa hosted this year. 

Great food-- Dogs, Burgers, marinated Chicken thighs......Theresa went all out in baking a great pumpkin pie, pumpkin roll, pumpkin cake, I think she made the Brownies, and she had to add homemade Ginger Snaps sprinkled with coarse orange sugar!

Sue made a deep-dish apple pie--beautiful, too.  Marcy brought a very tasty Bean Soup.  Theresa made chili, Billy had blackened potatoes from the grill, and I made Mac & Cheese that came out great.

The kids, big and little, all had a blast except Ferdinand when he got thorns in his foot.  He sure can yell!   Aaron fell a lot and skinned his knee, but he's used to that.  It's always so special to see him interacting with the other cousins and friends.

             Gathering "ghosts" -- pieces of white cloth fastened over sticks stuck in the ground.  The finder of the one on a red stick won.
              There was a makeshift pinata---a grocery bag---filled with individual baggies of candy.  Each family brought some to fill them.
If they played any other games, I missed them while I was inside getting warm.

               Wesley has been proud of his kind-of-long-wavy hair, but he was just as happy when the girls led him inside and straightened his hair till it hung shaggy and straight and down over his eyes.  Only one of the three girls was a cousin, so it's natural that he loved the attention!

                 Jon, the grown-up college boy , had a blast on the trampoline, as did all the kids except Aaron, of course.  Jon also put Silly String on Tony's bald head and chased Carol with it until she took a tumble. 

                  And it all started several years when Marcy & Larry, Billy & Theresa, Art & Robin and Bill & I had that first great Fall Fun Day for kids from First Baptist Church---at our place.  The next day, we had videos in the church lobby to show the fun.   We've all moved on from there, but Fall Fun Day has lived on for our family and friends.
