Here I am asking for prayers again. But first a praise--Our great-niece Esa, who is 3, had a stable report from her eye exam today at St. Jude's Hospital. She has had eye cancer, diagnosed before she was a year old, and all the trauma, heartache, and fear that go along with childhood sickness. The reports have all been good for months now, so we are very thankful for that!
Our daughter Carol needs surgery, but it is taking soo long for the doctors to all get coordinated and set a date. I believe she is in danger by putting it off, but one after the other schedules another test before the surgery.
Meanwhile, her son Matthew, who is bipolar, is having surgery tomorrow. He has a cyst at the end of his tailbone, inside. Carol is hoping the hospital doesn't cancel it because of the snowstorm that has crippled PA. Matt is nervous and she wants to get it over with. His recovery time will be long and painful. It will be really hard for all of them; Matt is a roamer, walking all over town looking for his friends who may be available to spend time with. He often sleeps at a friend's house. He's 19 now, but needs his family.
Carol's husband Tony was at the ER a couple days ago with debilitating pain. The drs. there think it was a gall bladder attack.
Son Aaron, who has cerebral palsy, fell about 2 weeks ago in school and knocked his knee cap out of place. Carol said it stood out straight. As they waited for the surgeon to come into the room, the knee cap slowly slid back into place! Yes, people were praying for him already, since the news spread quickly that he was hurt. Now he has to use the treadmill at home with a brace on his knee, and aides at school have to give him some kind of therapy, too. His walking seems to worsen as he gets older. He's 13 now, a real charmer. Everyone loves Aaron.
I think the family pets are healthy!
We were scheduled to take Matthew and Carol for his surgery tomorrow, but the snow is so deep, our driveway is so long, and we live at the foot of a mountain, so Tony will take off work instead. I guess I'm writing this because it's dominating my thoughts right now, especially my dear Carol's needs. Writing is good therapy, you know. I hope you are well as you are reading. I know God is always in control.
