You can understand the constant uncertainties that are in the back of their minds every day. For today, the news is GOOD, and celebration is in the air! From Blair, on Esa, our great-great niece:
i'm so sorry that i did not write sooner, but we were at saint jude longer than we usually are, then i had to go to class when i got home, and then we went out to chili's to celebrate the good news that we got today. both eyes were stable. the spot did not change at all since last time. that is good news. we just hope that this will be the pattern for that spot. there was nothing new this time, and both retinas looked good. we go back 11/19 for our next eua. dr. wilson said that if everything is still stable by then we will go longer in between eua's. they will never say that we are out of the woods. even the days that we get good news, we still need to be prepared for the bad news that we may get someday. but as for today, we can enjoy a good report. this is two in a row for us. we still covet your prayers that her eyes will stay stable. please pray for the families that didnt get good news today. it is so hard to see families hurting, especially when we get good news. it's almost a guilty feeling. but we are so thankful for the news we got today, and so sad for those who didnt. it's really hard to give praise when you know that others dont have the same praise to give. others feel like why did God chose to give them a good report and me one that is ruining my life? what do you say to that. i have been there, i might be there again, but today i will give praise. i dont want to be the kind of christian that gives praise when i get what i want and when i dont, i curse him. that is who i am and i am trying to be more honoring in my praise. this past week esa learned how to say 'Jesus'. and since then i have been telling Jesus that esa is calling out to him to heal her eyes. i know that her eyes will never be completely healed in this life, there is far too much damage done for her eyes to be 'healed', but a healing for us means out of danger. that is what we are praying for and hoping for everyday. stable eyes forever.
