ESA--This is the entry Esa's Daddy Blair (our great-nephew) posted yesterday, Monday, January 19th:
i cant believe that it's time already. tomorrow we go in for our doctors visit, and then wed esa has her eua. i'm so nervous about this one. the farther we get from chemo the more anything could happen. i just hope and pray that the Lord gives us those amazing words again of 'no change, no disease progression, everything is stable'. i just love hearing those words. so please pray for esa, pray that the Lord will bless her again with a stable report, and nothing new going on. a while back i wrote about a little girl that we knew who got very bad news, her name is kayla blair. she died last sunday night, so please keep the family in your prayers. www.caringbridge.org/visit/kaylablair
JASON -- Jason recently had a bone marrow aspiration. Only 5% of his blood is still affected by leukemia cells. His first test showed 100%. I'm probably not stating it correctly, but it still should give you a good idea of the progress that has come after about 6 months of daily chemo tablets.
Jason is faithfully attending school, has rare bouts of nausea, the leg and other pains are gone. He does tire easily, but pushes on.
Week before last, friends called and invited him to go rabbit hunting with them. He went and shot 2 rabbits, and even cleaned and skinned them himself, although he didn't like that part. He made sure to let Pappy know "I used the knife you gave me!" He had to go to bed early that night, but he was happy, and we were thrilled to hear about his day and the kindness of those who thought of him to go along.
In February, Cindy and Mike will meet with a bone marrow transplant team to discuss the pros and cons of that procedure. They've been told that the best time for it is when the patient is in remission. Jason hasn't officially deemed to be in remission, but it sure sounds close.
Cindy and Mike need wisdom in this, since the procedure, and especially the recovery period, are risky.
