Jason was in the hospital 8 days.  His doctor at Children's Hospital of Dayton, Ohio, said Jason's is only the third case he's seen of that particular leukemia in children.  It's very rare for a child to get it--mostly found in older adults.  It's called CML, Chronic Myelogonous Leukemia.  He said the normal white blood count is 5,000 to 6,000.  Jason's was over 400,000.  When he was discharged, I think it was 186,000.

He was welcomed back enthusiastically.  Classmates had made cards and sent them to the hospital, and were glad to have him looking well. 
Cindy said he gave up the crutches a few days after returning home, although he still has a lot of pain in his leg.  Also has had some fevers, nausea and fatigue.
So, it was school 2 days, then back to the hospital in Dayton for a checkup, then back to school.  He had a fun weekend, going to a birthday party and dancing there;  he showed his mom the "move" he does with his shoulders.  It's really cool because the other boys can't do it. 
Then he golfed 9 holes with his dad, using a golf cart so Jason wouldn't have to walk around.  It was thrilling to hear that he could have such fun, but I guess he overdid it because he has had a lot of leg pain afterwards and had depression yesterday.
He missed 2 days of school.  I haven't heard yet how he is today and whether he will be in school or not.
We're planning to go for a visit this weekend.  It's about an 8-9 hour trip, and Bill's back is quite painful right now.  (He injured his back in some falls, one at age 21 and the clincher several years ago.)
