Are you waiting for GOOD NEWS? At St. Jude's, parents and children wait in hope and fear to hear those wonderful words from their doctors. To continue to read about them is to be called on to pray for them today. ;] < Today, Wed. Oct. 29, is the day for Esa's eye exam, called a EUA. For this time, I thought I'd include more of Blair's comments. If for no other reason, reading these posts about this darling little girl will help us all to learn compassion for the struggles of those dealing with serious illnesses. Here are Blair's words from yesterday:
today was quite eventful. we got in at saint jude around 9:00, and we got her weight, and height, and she is growing good weight wise, but she isnt growing yet in height. she's alittle bit over 23 lbs. she got her last pantamadine drug today. it is a drug they give to kids on chemo to prevent a type of pneumonia that is very common for them. so that was her last one today, and she got her flu shot. i thought that she was going to pass out when she got it, i took one look at that needle and i got scared. we have been giving her shots after her 5 day chemo rounds, and this needle was like 3 times as big as the needles that we were using. but in like 2 seconds after she was done getting it she was walking around laughing. her threshold for pain is way bigger than mine. we got home around 3 or so, and she was so tired that she fell asleep on the way home. she never falls asleep on her own, we have to sit with her for about 20 minutes every nap, and every nightime. so this was rare. i know that i dont need to say this, but we are feeling very anxious about tomorrow. we just want good news. that's what we want. it's always so good to be at saint jude to remind us that there are so many people with it way worse than us. please go to my links and read about what is going on with elizabeth and eleanor. please keep praying for them and there needs specifically. tomorrow we all need good news. there are 19 eua's tomorrow. that is a very busy morning for the doctors, and nurses, so please keep all involved in your prayers. 19 set's of parents tomorrow could either get good news about their babies, or scary news. last time everyone that we knew got good news. pray it's the same for us tomorrow. thanks everyone.
