ESA, my great-great niece, has been chemo-free for a while now, and keeps having GOOD reports.  Her eye is stable--no new cancer.  I think her exams are every 3 weeks, and this was her seventh since she stopped getting chemo.  Here's Blair's update:

esa's eyes look great! we got our 7th stable report today! we are thankful to God for this! she had a hard time going under anesthesia, without her line. she cried a lot with the mask going over her face. then she woke up screaming, like she didn't even know she went to sleep. we hope this gets better in time. taya had her blood drawn yesterday and there were tears shed there too. the nurses did great though and got all the blood they needed just after two pricks. tomorrow taya will have her eyes dilated and have an exam by dr. wilson. please pray that everything goes well with that and continue to pray for esa. she goes back in 4 weeks. also, grandma is going back home on saturday. we already are getting sad about this. esa calls for her "ah-ga" constantly throughout the day. they are great friends and have so much fun together. so please pray for esa because she will miss her so much!   Baby Taya is just a few weeks old, but had to have testing to find out if she carries the same genetic problem that Esa has.  I think Blair said they will be doing eye exams on her regularly for a while, just to be sure. You can find Esa's updates on Caring Bridge.  Teresa Neiswender   JASON, my grandson, is doing well.  Yes, he gets tired, has dark circles under his eyes and gets some pains.  After all, he takes daily chemo.  But he is bowling, playing baseball, going to school and enjoying family activities as well.  Amazing, if you ask me! His recent bone marrow aspiration was good and his blood tests have been good.  The plan for now is NOT to have bone marrow transplant unless things begin to change.  The best time for it is during remission, but it is a risky procedure and aftermath, so they've decided to wait for a while.   To God be the glory; great things He hath done in the lives of these 2 kids, little Esa and teenager Jason!
