A need to pray for 3-year-old Esa For those who don't know or don't remember, Esa is a little girl in our family -- her daddy is our great-nephew. Esa has retinoblastoma. Her eyes have been stable for over a year now, for which we all praise God! She has frequent eye exams and tests. She's a little character with a charming personality; she just loves Minnie Mouse and likes to wear her Minnie dress and her mouse-ears.

Hi everyone, i just wanted to write real quick to let you know what's been going on with Esa. She's a 3 year old and loving it!! We don't have to go back to saint jude till july 7th for another eye exam. there has been something going on with her that has been concerning us. For the last 5 weeks or so she has been complaining of pains here and there. i know that kids complain of aches but most kids can fight against cancer. so she has been saying that her back hurts. it's always the same spot that she points to when she tells us it is hurting. so we called her doctor at saint jude and he said that it needs to be looked at. so on monday she has to have an mri of her back. she has already had blood work and a urine test, and everything is coming back as no sign of causing pain. so we are just waiting to get her mri. if nothing shows up on the mri it will be good but still no answer to why her back hurts. after that it will be ultrasounds of her stomach and other tests. but this mri is the big one. hopefully this is nothing but we wanted to let you know to be praying for her continued health. because of the retinoblastoma she has no fighting agents against any kind of cancer. most people have the genes to fight against rapid cell division but her body has no defense. we are so thankful that she has been doing so good for the last almost 2 years with not much going on in her eyes but this condition will be lifelong for her. so please pray for our baby to continue to be healthy. thanks so much everyone.
