Bill planted a nice garden this year.  Corn!  I am so thrilled to have our own delicious corn, and there's enough to put some in the freezer.

Peppers--so far the deer have eaten the plants down, but now that the corn is growing bigger, the pepper plants suddenly seem to have lost their appeal and are perking up and growing up.

Cabbage--they wreaked havoc on the cabbages, but I think we'll still get a few good heads.  We may even have some of our own to make the "Polish Pigeons"* we will take to the church picnic.  (*A hamburg-rice mixture wrapped in cabbage leaves, smothered in special tomato sauce and baked)

Cucumbers--Why, oh why did he plant cucumbers?  We still have some frozen pickles from 2 years ago, I don't eat many cucumbers, and he doesn't eat any.  We are giving so many away, which is fun, and maybe I'll give in and make pickles anyway, just to use the cukes.  Meanwhile, I just found a recipe for baked cucumbers which, believe it or not, sounds very good. You scoop out the pulp, mix with tomato pieces, onion, bread crumbs and I forget what else, re-fill the cucumber shells and bake.  I can't wait to try it!

Which brings me to the ZUCCHINI!  We've given quite a few of them away, too.  Bill planted a lot because last year's plants only produced two zucchinis.  Well, that was last year!  This year, they are producing prolifically.  We gave one person 21 zucchinis!  She was making relish, which by the way, is delicious!

I think I've caught Zucchini Fever!

Ze zucchini iz filling me with zeal and with zest. 
I'm zipping it in bagz, and I'm getting no rest. 
I think I'm being graded in thiz huge zucchini-fest.
Will I eat enough zucchini to pazz the final test?

I'm going to bed, will try not to dream about zucchini.
