Ideas about time and how there is only so much of it available to each one of us. This is my boss's sermon idea for Sunday, however it reminds me of the story that I was up at 4 am writing about this morning.
If only I'd known when I spoke to my sister on Friday, December 10,1999 that it would be my last time, perhaps I would have been kinder. No, I wasn't mean or nasty--just the typical 'big sister.' Can you relate?
I remember our conversation as if it were yesterday. She was going to have all of us over at her house for Christmas, except daddy. She was angry with him--and by all rights, she had every justifible reason to be. However, in my last ditch effort to get her to call and invite him anyway, I said to her, "Sis, we are not responsible for the way daddy treats us and we will not be held accountable, but we are responsible for the way we treat him. Think about that."
Long story short, I found out after the accident on Monday night that she did call daddy and they had a lengthy, healing conversation--God is amazingly good and right on time in All cases!
I guess sometimes little sisters do listen to big sisters, huh?
Bottom Line: We only have so much time available to love and to lift each other up so take the time necessary and use it wisely-for your good and God's glory...
