Wait, Heal You' 9/2/2008 3:51:38 AM
My sister's audible words...amazing! I chose to take my day off yesterday and spend time with my sister. I walked into the living room where she lay and stood beside her bed. She looked up at me and clearly said, "help me" repeatedly.
All I could do for a moment was look at her and the pitiful shape she is in and allow the tears to flow quietly down my cheeks. Finally I regained my composure and said, "Sis, there is nothing that I can do to help you but pray." I took her one hand in mine as I stoked her sandy blond hair with the other hand. I closed my eyes and passionately prayed for God to heal her and to give her quality of life again in accordance with His will and timing, of course.
After the prayer, I said to my sister, "you know Dianne, I carried seizures for twenty-four years before God said yes to my pleas for healing. So, we have to hold on and keep praying. In His timing God can heal you. Just wait and He will heal you.
All was quiet for a few moments and then Dianne clearly mouthed these words, "Wait, heal you." Over and over, she said this. I looked over at her nurse who was beaming from ear to ear. She understood what Dianne was saying as well! It was an incredible experience that I had to share with my authors den friends today!
In my quiet time this morning and reading from the book of Job, this verse jumped out. Job's body was physically decaying, yet he still had the strength and stamina to say to his critical friends, "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives."
Incredible faith!
