This Scripture jumped out during my quiet time one day. It spoke so powerfully to me that I wrote it on a piece of paper and posted it in my office. The truth is that at the time I read it, I did not understand why it spoke so directly to my heart. However a couple of weeks later when I ran into a situation that required that I guard my actions and reaction to one of life’s disappointments, I knew why God gave me this verse. It’s called preparation for what is coming ahead. And I believe that God does and will prepare us for life’s upsets if we will take the time to seek Him and to listen carefully to His promptings.
Amazingly, this morning I woke up with this same verse of Scripture playing in my mind. Then I realized that I’ve finally nailed it in its completion. I have memorized this verse. Now it is etched within the confines of my brain to be stored and brought back to recollection when needed.
‘Hide my words in your heart’ the Lord says. If you are interested in learning and memorizing Scripture, let me assure you that this is a great tool. Some people choose to write on note cards and place them on the refrigerator or over the sun visor of their car. Others may choose more inconspicuous places like inside a desk drawer.
There is a vast array of places that you can post your verses. Just make sure that it is somewhere that you go often. Every time you go there, you will read the verse and begin the process of Scripture memorization without even knowing it. This is a painless but powerful tool to be used for your good and His glory!
