This immediately made me think of Silverstein's Polar Bear in the Fridgedaire, lol. With two young girls I couldn't help it. I've read his poetry so often. Thinking of that made me think of the last bedtime story I made up for my 5 year old. She wanted a story about a cow. So there was a cowboy trying to kill the cow for dinner. However, Go-Go kept editing the story so the cow was faster than the bullets. The story kept going and going and Mom was getting a little tired of it. So being the novice sci-fi writer, Mom had the cowboy break out the phaser. He just scorched the field and cooked the cow to a nice medium rare. :) No out running that. Maybe I'll put that little story in writing in honor of tomorrow.
