Actually went to a real restaurant not McD's. So when Dad came home yesterday, we decided to go out to dinner for Go-Go's birthday. As soon as we got in the car, Go-Go wanted to got to the restaurant with the playground, and of course the little one started chanting, Mcdonald's. Mom and Dad were sick of fast food. We told the girls we were going someplace nice.
We went to Mimi's Cafe, and even though the parking lot was full, we got seated right away. Which anyone who has gone out to dinner with a 3 and 6 year old knows, is always a plus.
Then as we were eating dinner, there was a birthday at another table and the waiters came out and sang happy birthday. As soon as waiter came to see how we were doing, Go-Go announced it was her birthday and she was 5, puuting up one hand, then she realized 6 required the other hand, and she put up her index finger.
After dinner the waiters came with a birthday cake and they all sang happy birthday to Go-Go to the tune of Oscar Mayer hotdog. It was cute and Go-Go had a huge smile on her face. She pulled the candle out of the cake, after blowing it out and beamed even more. "It's pink! My favorite color!" The waiter told her, "I had a feeling that's why I picked it."
As Go-Go ate her slice of cake, she complained she doesn't like chocolate and she wanted vanilla. Though for someone who didn't like her cake, she ate more than half of it.
So despite the fact we didn't go to the restaurant with the playground, I think Go-Go had a good birthday dinner.
