Title says it all (both titles). Go-Go made up her first complete book yesterday. She did all the art work, using both sides of the paper. Her cover had the title, "This book is True" By: "insert her name". Too funny, she wanted to tell the story of how we helped a wild bird bird and it was a TRUE story. Not a very original title, but she wanted to make sure everyone knew this was real.
Then after Go-Go did the art work, she'd hand the page over to me and told me the words for that page. When she was done she had a very nice little 8 page book about our experience nursing a baby bird.
She got to the back cover and asked me what went there. I said that is where they have a synopsis of the book. Synopsis must have sounded good to Go-Go because she never asked what it meant, just handed the book over and said, "write one."
Mom wrote, "This is a great story about Go-Go's wild bird."
Then Go-Go took the book back and drew an award on the front cover, "All great books have awards stamped on the front cover, Mommy."
She's too cute. I'd love to write the book down here, but Go-Go took it to school today to share with her teacher. She even showed me how her teacher holds the book when reading to the class. Mom was doing that wrong.
Watching Go-Go put her book together in the proper order and stapling it like a "real" book reminded me how proud I was when I made my first book. Only I was 8 not 5, and I wasn't so bold as to put an award on the cover page. Though I dreamed as she does of seeing one on a cover of my own book someday. :D
