Now, you wait here...

while I go check my email. Out of the mouth of babes.
My 2 year old said this, as I booted up the computer this morning, and she came rushing in to "paint". I told her she had to wait til I checked my email. She went to retrieve her play-doh cookies as mommy got online, informing me as she went, "Now, you wait here while I go check my email".
At the age of 2, she's already become a computer geek. She runs the jump start first grade program better than her sister. And just yesterday she told her daddy she wanted to play the Barbie riding club. Dad said, "No, I don't think you can run that program", and when I told him to put it in, the Little One shocked him by picking her name. I told him she does that with all the programs. I'm not sure if it's name recognition, or if she just remembers where her name is placed at the start of each program. Hubby said I should write a bunch of names on a paper, put the Little One's in somewhere and then we'll know if she really can recognize her name.
The other thing she did yesterday was plop herself at the computer at the house where we went to a birthday party. Everytime we lost track of the Little One, hubby or I would go into the bedroom and find her clued to the "Pirate's" computer. Apparently he just got the computer for his room, to which I replied, "we just bought a new computer so I can get back my computer time". It's been hard finding time to write betwwen Go-Go and the Little One. Of course it would help to get my internet access uploaded to the new comp, and I still need to get word on there too. Which is why I was battling with the Little One over the computer this morning; Mom's still using the old one.
Still she is only 2 years old and her attention is distracted easily. This being garbage day, she's been transfixed to the window ever since she heard the truck come down our street. So Mom not only got to check email, she got to update her blog, too. :D
