Perfect Summer Day! 6/27/2006 6:26:46 AM
My grandkids will be here, it's sunny with low humidity, just perfect. It has been one week since I lost my little dog Lady. I miss her, and last night I dreamed she was woofing at me to let her on the bed. I know she is in a better place.
I have my grandkids today. I have them on Monday and Tuesday's, I enjoy having them so much. They are great!
I've been listing some items on eBay and have a freelance assignment I need to do. I will keep busy this week for sure.
The son is moving into his own place this week and will be one more hole in my life. You know how iwt is, they are always your kids, and he has gone through a rough year. He's coming out on top. His divorce will be final next month and he is beginning to move on.
We will be empty nesters again. In our thirteen years of marriage, we figured we have only lived alone about 2-3 of those years.
Steve is still off work, his shoulder is still extremely painful. He took a week off of PT on the doctor's orders and went back this morning. Recovery is slow, and the surgeon is beginning to doubt if he will have full recovery. He is 18 months away from his 30 year retirement from teamsters. Partial retirement is an option but we take a big cut in benefits.
The Lord will make a way for us. I know it will be alright. He has been off work for seven months already. For the first time in our marriage, he looks healthy, happy, and well rested. You don't get rested when you are a bread man who goes to work at 1:30 in the morning and works until 2 or 3 the next afternoon. He usually got around four hours of sleep each night and a brief nap in the afternoon when he got home from work. I won't be sorry if he isn't able to go back to work, except for the retirement problem.
