Busy week! Still working on basement bedrooms! They will look great once we are done! Of course we couldn't get through a week without some dram thrown in! Grrrrrrr. Yes another busy week! I really didn't think at the time I said it that the basement project would really take all summer but here we are, not finished and only 5 weeks until school starts again.
Katlin's room is awesome and all we need to do is put up her fabric ceiling! Still looking for a nail gun to borrow but may have to go out and just buy one. The ceiling will be a light weight cloth ceiling with wide voile ribbon running from sides to center. Then we have a lamp to hang in the middle. We are going to try to decorate it with pieces of glass with all the right colors in it!
Kenzie's room is nearly finished. We still need to put curtains up, the zebra print divider curtain between her room and laundry room. I found a really cool room divider that will make a door for both Kenzie and Katlin's bedrooms.
Still looking for louvered or plain bi-fold doors and pallets to make the other two room dividers that we need. It really is so cool down there and all of the kids love the area! We know it will be a popular place once we get the living room area set up!
Camps kept me busy for most of the week. The two older girls went to Millikin's volleyball camp for two days and Hunter is in Wayne Dunning's basketball camp. His is in the mornings so getting up early every day! Took Breezy for a visit with her dad, course I always do because its in the daytime and Heather has a job! She's trying to make ends meet and Breezy and I have fun spending the evening together! This week we spent some time on Grandma School Homework! She loved it! She loves math but needs the extra help in reading.
Speaking of the visit, now we get to the drama part of the week. It has been quiet for a few weeks, we have all settled down after the guardian ad litum visited. Felt good to live life without tons of stress. Well, apparently Breezy's dad thought life was getting a little too comfortable for us. So......
He decided to get in touch with Heather's best friend and proceed to tell her how he was going to win the custody battle! First, the lawyer is checking to see if he violated the OP by even asking the questions he did and contacting her in the first place. Then he proceeds to brag about how every visit is being documented. Duh! No surprise there! But, he went on to say that my girl always showed up dirty, with hair a mess, teeth not brushed. Also she showed up with no panties! WEll, I want to know how he knew that! Besides, it is all totally untrue. Breezy comes from my house or I pick her up to take her to visit because her mom works. He told Heather's friend that she is unfit because she doesn't spend any time with her since I always have her. Brother, is he thick headed or what! She's working, I'm the child care provider for her this summer and he wants his visit in the daytime!
Second, when I take her for a visit she is always clean, always has her hair and teeth brushed and always has a cute outfit on. She has had her bath and most likely has spent the night with me before the visit. I know how she goes to her visits and it really upset me when I heard he had said that!!! And don't tell me that little summer canvas slip ons require socks! I bought her some flip flops then he can't worry about her socks! I should just let it slide off but when he starts bad mouthing the way that I bring her, that is enough. He also told Cadette that Mandy is with HIM all the way, she has everything documented and she is on his side and hope he wins.
Let me tell you! I talk to Mandy before and after every visit and she is definitely not wanting him to gain custody of her. She says she talks about what her family is doing and what I do with them all the time. She also told me that Breezy is happier than she has ever seen her! Now, who do you think I believe?
I know what I know, and I know I don't take her to visits dirty, unkempt and without proper clothing! So, I know he is just trying to push buttons, too bad I let him succeed at that. I will be glad when this is all over and karma and his evil deeds come back to bite him in the butt!!
